SIZING
Upon acceptance of quoted price and my policies I will also supply you with the necessary information to provide me with all measurements required for your project.EVERYDAY, FORMAL WEAR & HALLOWEEN
Never send “hopeful” measurements. Never send “guessed” measurements. Never send measurement of what you want the final garment to be if different than your actual measurement (we all plan on losing weight). If you plan to wear a special undergarment, please make sure you have it on prior to taking measurements.WOMEN'S HISTORICAL COSTUMES
Corsets: Corsets are worn without any additional foundation garments on under them. Measurements may be with or without a bra on. For Historical corsets I make them about 2” smaller than actual measurements to provide that “cinch” needed. Please DO NOT send “cinched” measurements. This will result in the corset being too small.Bodices: With the foundation garment you plan to wear under your garment ON (unless I am making the foundation garment as well), measure yourself at the fullest point of your bust line. (Do not go by bra size) If you plan to ALWAYS wear a corset under your bodice, put your corset on, and measure with the corset on - but be sure to TELL me that you are sending corseted measurements. If you don't tell me your bodice will be too small since I allow a cinch when I make them. If you do NOT plan to wear a corset, send me your ACTUAL measurements. Never send "guessed" measurements. Never send "hopeful" measurements. Never send a measurement of what you want the final garment to be if it is different from your actual or corseted measurement. If you plan to wear special undergarment, please make sure you have it on while taking measurements. You do not have to tell me if you are wearing a normal bra because bras won't cinch you like a corset will.
With the foundation garment you plan to wear under your garment ON, measure yourself at the thinnest point of your waistline. This is your natural waist, just below the base of your rib cage. When you bend to the side, it's where your skin will wrinkle. Skirts: Are you wearing a hoop under your skirt? If so, you want to measure the length (from waist to hoop base) with the hoop and your shoes on. If you're not planning to wear a hoop skirt, measure from your waist to where you want the hem to fall. Some people prefer their skirts to brush the ground, while others prefer their skirts to be ankle length. Again, it's all a matter of preference.
